Is there a name for this geographic phenomenon?

I wouldn't say that americans are more easily to distinguish through looks, but maybe you could say if you heard them speak you could tell, but even then put a south african and an australian next to each other and have them speak, try to depict which both are from... You wont be able to, however I would say Pports are the way to determine this factor.
