5th grade brain teaser?

There are three light switches on a wall and you know each one controls a different light in your basement, completely out of view of the switches. All three switches are turned off in the beginning. You are allowed to switch whichever switches you want in any manner that you choose, then porceed one time only to the basement. How can you guarantee being able to identify which switch goes to which light with only one trip to the basement?
