What did Clark Kent's adoptive mother, Martha, use to make his Superman costume?

I read some where that when Superman was a baby and getting put onto his ship from Krypton, his real mother wrapped him in blankets that were Red, Blue and Yellow. Then at a later time Martha sewed his costume using these blankets. Dont know if thats exactly how it went down, but never heard any other theory on the matter.
